This is a medium rated walk and climbs steadily, it is walking and no climbing is required the distance is 7 kilometres round trip, sensible footwear is required and a wind and water proof jacket is advised to be carried, advice on clothing will be given upon collection by the guide if any other clothing is required. As this walk is in the mountains if the weather conditions are considered to be to difficult, then the walk can be cancelled. Unfortunately we cannot control the weather even here in the Garden Route.

You will be collected from the prearranged meeting point at 8.30am and taken into the Outeniqua Mountains where this walking safari begins.
Your day starts in a valley amongst the beautiful and indigenous forest that remains, once part of the great Knysna forest area. From here the walk climbs steadily through the forest out into the open.
As the walk continues higher the views begin to open, and the surrounding country side can be seen in all its glory.
The highest point of the walk is usually reached around mid-day a light meal is taken some refreshment and we begin walking down, once back in the valley our vehicle will take you across the gravel roads, to the beginning of the second part of this walk.
This walk descends into another valley, where a river runs at the base, in this tranquil surroundings many species of birds and of course the ever present baboon can be heard and seen.
This walk continues out of the valley and over a ridge to the settlement in Lions Valley, this marks the end of the walking for the day usually around 4pm, a picnic is provided and welcome refreshments, from there we travel back to Mossel Bay arriving around 4:30 - 5:00pm, just in time for a relax before your evening begins.
